COMMUNITY OUTREACH

In addition to grants and other financial support, the Foundation uses different resources to enrich and strengthen GP communities in the following positive ways:

Disaster Relief

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation helps communities devastated by the effects of natural disasters such as seasonal Gulf & Atlantic hurricanes, western wild fires, Midwest flooding and tornadoes, and global earthquakes with in-kind donations of household products, such as Dixie® cups, cutlery and plates, bath tissue, and paper towels. We have also shipped building materials to affected areas to ensure adequate supplies for repairs to facilitate community rebuilding.

Georgia-Pacific works with partners providing support in affected areas:

ServiceForce

Georgia-Pacific continues to demonstrate its corporate citizenship in a variety of ways. We provide opportunities for employees to make a difference while networking and enhancing professional skills through our ServiceForce volunteer program. GP employees, retirees and their families volunteer for company-sponsored service projects as well as individual volunteer activities in their communities. ServiceForce volunteer activities focus on the Georgia-Pacific strategic investment areas of Education, Environment, Community Enrichment and Entrepreneurship, as well as local community needs.
