GREENGUARD®

The company's DensArmor Plus® family of interior panels as well as its ToughRock® regular, Fireguard® and Fireguard C, and Mold-Guard panels have earned GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Children & Schools℠ Certification for products that emit low volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Chlorine Free Products Association

Select brands and product lines at three Georgia-Pacific Professional mills received Process Chlorine Free certification from the Chlorine Free Products Association.

LEED logo. Many GP building products and tissue and towel products contribute to certification points in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® program.

Many Georgia-Pacific building products and tissue and towel products may contribute toward certification points in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. LEED establishes a standard for measurement of green building and sustainability.

Sustainable Forest Initiative logo.  Select  Georgia-Pacific products are certified to the SFI procurement standard.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Certified Sourcing

Georgia-Pacific plywood, oriented strand board, engineered lumber and softwood lumber products in the United States are made from wood sourced through a system that is third-party certified to the SFI procurement standard. In addition, all paper, tissue, cellulose, packaging and bleached board products made at GP’s primary pulp and paper mills in North America are also certified to the SFI procurement standard as are the company’s corrugated container facilities. Many of these pulp and paper and wood products can use the SFI certified sourcing on-product label.

FSC Controlled Wood

Several Georgia-Pacific facilities meet the Forest Stewardship Council Controlled Wood standards, which help manufacturers and others avoid the purchase of timber and timber products that do not meet certain conditions. All Georgia-Pacific’s U.S. and Canadian wood supply basins are third-party assessed and considered low risk, even if they are not certified to the Controlled Wood standard. TerraChoice logo. Select GP products have been verified by TerraChoice as being made with 100 percent recycled fiber.

TerraChoice®

More than two dozen Georgia-Pacific Professional tissue, towel and napkin products produced at the company’s Green Bay (Broadway), Wis.; Muskogee, Okla.; and Rincon (Savannah River), Ga., tissue mills have been verified by TerraChoice as being made with 100 percent recycled fiber. TerraChoice is a science company that investigates environmental and sustainability claims.
